Dr. Rangwala an eminent scientist, research guide and Professor of Theoretical Physics with forty research papers published in International and National Journals of high repute started his career in the year 1968 as an Associate Lecturer, Department of Physics, IIT Bombay. He has been a Research Fellow & Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Physics and Astronomy Tel-Aviv University, Israel, Reader & Professor of Theoretical Physics, Department of Physics Department of Physics, University of Mumbai, and in the year 1983 was given the responsibility of heading the Department of Physics. In the year 1989 under the Indo-US Exchange Programme, he represented the Indian delegation at Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, USA and Department of Applied Physics, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.
Dr. Rangwala’s expertise lies in the field of Quantum Optics, Quantum Information & Quantum Computation, Quantum Field Theory and has guided: 2 M.Sc.; 7 M.Phil. 9 Ph.D. and Acted as an internal referee for 3 Ph.D. students. Dr. Rangwala has also authored two books and is a Recipient of Indian National Science Academy’s INSA Teachers Award for the year 2015.
Dr. Rangwala has also been a member and Chairman for Maharashtra NET & SET (Physics) committee; Chairman for setting papers for KVPY examinations as well as a panel member for selecting candidates for KVPY scheme. He has produced several Educational Aids in the form of Video Lessons, Lecture Notes and Popular Articles.
From 2003-2008, he was associated with a Cambridge A-Level School, Rais Institute of Management Studies, Juhu, Mumbai as a consultant. Presently he holds the position of Emeritus Professor in the Department of Physics, University of Mumbai.
